I am floored by the enormous amount of talent that is sitting in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve only lived here a year(ish), but I know more ridiculously talented people than I’ve ever known before. Sometimes it’s more than I can take. There’s my good friend, Kyle Cooper, for instance. He’s a worship leader at a church in Franklin, TN, and he’s working on his first (or maybe second) full-length record right now. He doesn’t have a myspace or a Facebook account (stop the presses!) so you can’t look him up…yet. But one of these days I’m sure he’ll fly across your radar, and when he does, remember that I told you about him first. He is a true worshiper, and his heart for God is evident in all he does.

Then there’s Allie Butler, one of my first roommates in Nashville. She’s a senior at Belmont and is enormously talented in 85,000 different ways. She draws, she paints, she designs everything graphic-related, she takes pictures, she plays piano, she writes incredible melodic hooks, and her voice will knock you out. I’m just a little bit proud of her, if you couldn’t tell. 

Then of course, there’s Daniel Kirkley, Jaime Jamgochian, and Josh Wilson—three great friends of mine who have already started to get some of the attention they deserve. But for every artist whose name you know, there are countless others who never make it to the airwaves. I know, because a lot them live in Music City, and I seem to find more of them every day.

Sorry, I just had to brag on my friends for a moment. I sang on a boat in Chattanooga recently. That was exciting! Honestly, right now I’m mostly trying to adjust to being gone so much. It’s tough to find community on the open road. But God is meeting me where I am…it's usually on a plane. Still, life is good! Summer is in full swing here, but the end is in sight. Thank the Loooooord!
