Thankful Heart
My favorite thanksgiving memories involve helping my mom cook the most delicious spread while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Oh how I love that parade. My favorite part, of course, were the musical numbers from Broadway shows. Even though the actors and actresses lip-synced, and you could tell they were usually freezing, it was always the best part of the parade for me. My favorite Thanksgiving dish would have to be the dressing. My mom never stuffed it in the turkey, so it was always a little crunchy on top, full of apples and onions and delicious flavors.
Family News :)
Phew, what a year 2011 was! It was a whirlwind--starting with WinterJam and ending with The Story Tour. We made so many memories as a family out on the road last year, and it was fun to meet so many of you. Our son Eli is 16 months old, and as most of you might already know, we are expecting our second child in June! We can't wait for this adventure God is continuing in our lives! It will mean we're not touring this summer, but we're excited to be out with Jeremy Camp this spring and have some exciting plans for the fall!
Merry Christmas From Me To You
Dear friends,
It really is the most wonderful time of the year! I just finished up The Story Tour (which was a blast!) and now I’m enjoying some time at home as we ease into Christmas! As 2011 comes to an end and I reflect on what an amazing year this way, I want to say THANK YOU for every bit of support and encouragement you have shared this year. You guys mean the world to me and I appreciate having you alongside me in this journey.
The Story Tour
I'm out on The Story Tour- what an incredible experience it has been, singing these songs and sharing how God changes us and uses us in His Story. Such a powerful night and I feel so honored to be on this tour! AND, I get to share the stage with Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael Tait, and Natalie Grant. And let me say that Todd Smith of Selah can REALLY sing- you need to come hear him live!
I'm also singing one of my favorite Christmas songs, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". I hope you can come see us on Mtour!
What I'm Thankful For
Dear friends,
Happy Thanksgiving!!! This year is flying by... we are just weeks away from Christmas! But I always love to take this time of year and really stop and give thanks. In the busy-ness of life, it's so easy to get sidetracked but in reality we have so much to be thankful for. It’s such a blessing to have a beautiful family, a place to call home, the gift of making music, and the comfort and salvation from our Savior.
A Little Tour Update
Hi friends,
What a year it has been! We started off on the Winter Jam tour in the midst of the Hundred More Years release, had the most fun night at the Dove Awards before summer festivals kicked off, and now we are in full time touring season.
The best part? The year isn’t even over yet!
We've been so busy lately, and I've been meaning to write a blog for weeks, but it's better late than never, right? Maybe you’ve seen some of these photos on Twitter, but I’d love to share with you the story behind what is happening on the road.
A Night To Remember
Phew, it's been a whirlwind of a year. I can't believe it's May already...where did the first 4 months of 2011 go? I know this is long overdue, but I have to talk for a minute about the Dove Awards.
Back From Winter Jam
Hey everyone,
I can’t believe it’s almost been over a month since Hundred More Years released! It was so much fun to be on the road with Winter Jam in the midst of my sophomore album coming out. What an adventure it has been, but it’s been such a great journey. I’m so grateful to each and every one of you who listened to the album, came to a show, or offered your support in some way. It truly means more than you can know!!
Valentine's Day...
I thought I'd share a funny Valentine's Day story with you this Valentine's Day. Back when I was 17, I went out a few times with a guy who will remain nameless. No, let's call him Bob. So Bob was a little bit older, drove a huge SUV and was obsessed with sailing. His dad invented toilet paper or something, so he had plenty of money, and insisted on always backing into a parking spot to show how eeeeeasy it was (a skill he learned parking his boat, apparently). He was such a boat-lover that the first time we met, he showed me how to tie 7 different types of knots.
