Yesterday, on a plane, I decided it was time. Time to learn how to sew. Actually, I’ve always wanted to learn, but what’s always stopped me from pursuing it has been the fact that I’m not any good at it...yet. What a foolish, self-imposed obstacle! Why let inexperience keep me from learning a new skill?

I don’t know how to keep track of what day it is lately. Starting my work
week when everyone else is clocking out puts me in a strange place. I always
feel like Friday is Monday, and Saturday is Tuesday, and Sunday is Friday.
Then Mondays through Thursdays all feel like Saturdays. Weird, I know. Such
is the life of a traveling artist! Ah, but it’s wonderful. Honestly, I’m not
sure I could do the whole 9-5 thing. So, thank you, God for creating a job
for me.

This was a particularly good weekend. I can look back on every day of the

Last night I went to see my friends, Group 1 Crew perform at a
showcase in Nashville, and can I just say that I am so proud of my
friends?! They are incredible. Of course, I knew this. I've seen them
play a hundred times, but I never get tired of watching them do their
thing. It's amazing to see people fully alive, giving their all,
walking in the fullness of their calling. Praise God for reminding me
why I do what I do! Be sure to check out their new record here.

And I've been having a blast on the "Least of These" tour with

Well, I found out that I love San Francisco. Yup. I was there for less than
24 hours, but the weather absolutely stole my heart. So did the architecture
and the hustle bustle of the very east-coast-vibe that is downtown. I didn’t
even get to see the Golden Gate or Chinatown, and I STILL love this city. I
promise it has nothing to do with the fact that it has “Fran” in it’s name.
Okay, maybe just a little.

It’s been a great couple of weeks lately. I was home in Nashville for an
entire week in a row (which is a feat, I tell you!), and I had a wonderful

I've been on 12 planes in 7 days. Yup, 12. One in particular has a pretty incredible story attached to it. Let me tell you what happened...

Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to be able to perform at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina. Not only did I get to play for nearly 13,000 students who love Jesus, but I also got to watch as these same kids performed skits, songs, and human videos at the end of a week-long competition that culminated in an awards ceremony. I actually competed at Nationals 5 years ago in Washington D.C. with my home church, Faith Assembly of God Orlando. I was competing in the songwriting and "Female Vocal Solo" categories. And you know what?

Well. Talk about living it. This week I wrote a song with the uber-talented
Sam Mizell called "Worth It." I think it's one of the most honest,
gut-wrenching songs I've ever written. It's all about what love is and what
it isn't, and how no matter how tough it is, it's always always always worth
it. It's difficult--heck, yes. But true love always comes with a price.

God is rocking my world lately. He is teaching me so much about so much, but
mostly about myself. He's revealing my own heart to me, and it's incredible.

I love deeply. I don’t how else to do it. I find it utterly impossible to love halfway. I just can’t do shallow. I want to shower the people I love with gifts, with letters, with hugs, with encouragement and pride and smiles. I want to shout their greatness from the rooftops. I want to give myself fully to the ones I love. “Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). This is what love is all about.

I am floored by the enormous amount of talent that is sitting in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve only lived here a year(ish), but I know more ridiculously talented people than I’ve ever known before. Sometimes it’s more than I can take. There’s my good friend, Kyle Cooper, for instance. He’s a worship leader at a church in Franklin, TN, and he’s working on his first (or maybe second) full-length record right now. He doesn’t have a myspace or a Facebook account (stop the presses!) so you can’t look him up…yet.

Hello, friends!

Thanks to all of you who came out to the CD release shows in Tampa and Orlando this past week! Our “Pasta Party” sponsored by the JOY-FM was SO much fun, in more ways than one! If you were there, you know what I’m talking about…I know, I should keep my day job and not go into stand-up comedy.

I was thrilled to see over 1,000 of you at Northland Church in Longwood on Wednesday night for the Z 88.3 sponsored show. Wow! Thanks for coming out and bringing your friends. It was a blast to see some old friends and meet lots of new ones.
