I wanted to take a minute to say hello and give you some fun news. My first Christmas album, titled Christmas, hits stores TODAY!!! It's never too early for Christmas music, I say! :) I can't wait to sing some of these songs live on NewSong's "Very Merry Christmas Tour". It's gonna be a blast! Be sure to pick up my Christmas record on iTunes, in my online store, or at your favorite store. I shall be buying a copy too!
I hope everyone has had a blessed and safe summer! Our daughter, Audrey, is doing well, and we are so in love with her! Eli loves his little sister, and he always wants to hold her or share his toys with her--it's so cute.
Though I haven't been playing shows this summer, we have been keeping busy planning for something very exciting. Drumroll please...
Happy Mother's Day!
I just wrapped up the We Cry Out Tour with Jeremy Camp and Adam Cappa, and I'm beginning to record my Christmas album. It's been a busy and exciting year so far, but I am most excited about welcoming our second child in June! I remember Mother's Day two years ago, when I was pregnant with our son and so excited to meet him and hold him. Once again, Matt and I are full of expectation to meet our daughter, and we will keep you posted on her arrival! :)
My favorite thanksgiving memories involve helping my mom cook the most delicious spread while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Oh how I love that parade. My favorite part, of course, were the musical numbers from Broadway shows. Even though the actors and actresses lip-synced, and you could tell they were usually freezing, it was always the best part of the parade for me. My favorite Thanksgiving dish would have to be the dressing. My mom never stuffed it in the turkey, so it was always a little crunchy on top, full of apples and onions and delicious flavors.
I hope you are having a great week so far! Have you had a chance to pre-order the Deluxe Edition of Hundred More Years and download my new single, "Strangely Dim" yet? Hehe, shameless plug ;)
"Strangely Dim” is actually inspired by my dad. He’s in a place in his life where he is just waiting on God for a lot of things. We’ve all been there to some extent. I’ve found in my life that if I’m looking down at the things I can’t control and the things that stress me out, I can get discouraged. Just like the old hymn said, if I turn my eyes on Jesus, that’s where hope is, that’s where clarity is, and that’s where He is. No matter where you are, if you focus on Him, the things of this earth will pass away.
Hey Friends! I hope your new year is off to a great start! I've been working hard the last month on some exciting stuff for 2013, starting off with a new single called "Strangely Dim!" You may have heard it on my Hundred More Years tour last fall or on the radio.
I can't believe my band and I just finished the Hundred More Years Tour! We had a great time meeting everyone, telling stories from the stage and worshiping with you all. Thanks to everyone who came out! I was so blessed by the gifts and talent brought by my friends Sidewalk Prophets, Andy Cherry and City Harbor. We all had a great time together on the road.
