Tori And Valentine's Day
Hey everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your week, and as Valentine's Day approaches quickly, I thought it fitting to take a moment to talk about a sweet girl I recently got a chance to meet. A girl who lives each day with hope, courage, and love in her heart for others. If that's not what this holiday should be all about, I don't know what is.
Tori Svenson is a young girl who's story I first heard back in September. It's a story of beauty and heartbreak all at the same time. Her strength and joy in the midst of fighting cancer is inspiring to say the least. There are some things in this life I don't know if we will ever understand. It brings me peace, though, to remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than ours.
To think that the Lord can use something as simple as a song to encourage Tori during chemo treatments is a blessing beyond words. I wrote "Angel By Your Side" with the hope that it would encourage people who were going through difficult times, but I never could have pictured Tori. I am grateful to know her, grateful to CNN for giving me the opportunity to surprise her on air last month, grateful to God for using music in profound ways beyond what we could ask or think!
Let Tori's story remind you that God can use you no matter what you are going through. Her life has already impacted thousands, and who knows what God will do through you when you let Him?

My name is Becca Rust and I am 13 years old. I live in Northern Virginia at the moment, but will be moving to Sydney Australia soon, (my Mum is an Aussie:) I wanted to thank you for what you are doing through music.
I have heard your songs before, but this morning my Mum was scrolling through her emails, and a friend had sent her one of your music videos, ('Your Free to Be You') so we watched it together. Afterwards we watched some of your other videos, and I looked you up and I found your website, (This one!) I realized that I wanted to do what you are doing through music, inspiring others with fun songs!
I like your style because it sounds mello but funky like, A Fine Frenzy or Jack Johnson, but yours have a Christian view.
I have wanted to make music for a while, because every day my older brother is playing his guitar and making songs, but when I heard you this morning... I just got really excited and now I want to get on with writing music, and learning how to play the guitar and ukulele!
